  1. Hi Kat – I found your blog because of Brent’s new famous status (!) and his referral. Since you appear to be the expert in the family on blogging, I thought I’d address this question to you! Lucky!! So, about this legal stuff. I’m new at blogging (about as new as your husband) and was wondering why you have the disclaimer – I noticed it on his as well. Just wondering . . .

    • Hello! Thanks for visiting our blogs! When I was starting up my blog, a blog friend of mine suggested I get a copyright and disclosure notice. It basically protects my content, comments and reviews. I tend to review brands/products and with the disclaimer, I cannot be held liable in the event that I offered my opinion on a product or diet for example and someone took my advice and was harmed. Stating I am only offering an opinion and am not an expert protects me from legal action. It prevents anyone for taking action against me if they do not like my content, comments, visitors comments or photos. Also it is extremely important to ask for permission and link back images or videos to the site you borrowed it from. Its just a simple way to cover my behind!

      • Thanks for the info – you can never be too careful – especially when you are making recommendations. Enjoy your new fame!! I was gonna hook my husband up with a blog and he would def be famous before me! I hope I’m FP someday – have a good one!

  2. Thank you for this! I have now added my own to my “about” page as well. I never thought about this, but when posting recipes I think it might be important. Happy Blogging! :-)
